Fashion for College Students - A Few Simple Guidelines for College Fashion

!±8± Fashion for College Students - A Few Simple Guidelines for College Fashion

If you're like most college students, you like to get noticed when you go to class, but you don't want to put off the impression that you tried too hard. You don't wanna look like you took an hour to get ready for your 8am class do you, or your 3pm class for that matter? You've got better things to do, like study for instance, riiight.

There are a few simple fashion for college students guidelines to follow here fellas.

1. Don't overdo it. Don't underdo it.

No lazy pants or sweat pants at any time, EVER. Throw on some nice looking jeans, chinos. You don't want to look like you slept in your clothes so see below for a tip on getting wrinkles out without a pesky iron. Don't wear suits or "business casual" to class. That's just a cry for attention. If you're just coming from work, well you don't have a choice, but avoid it if at all possible.

2. Wear nice shoes

I know you're poor, but do yourself a favor and spend on a nice pair of brown Skechers (or the cheaper generic alternative if you're really strapped for cash). The first thing most of the ladies notice is your shoes. It can be a dealbreaker, especially if you wear those junked up superstars you've been wearing since junior year.

3. Funny shirts are a fashion for college students must.

If there is one language all college students understand, it's a funny t shirt. Pick up some funny graphic tees from the college humor guys. There are plenty of websites out there that sell funny t shirts for a pretty fair price. The widest selection is online. And please fellas, make sure you get the right size. Find a shirt that comes down just below your waistline and fits nicely around your arms.

4. Spend a few minutes on your hair

Hats are lame. Everyone and their brother wears a hat to class to hide their lame hair. It's played out. Don't do it. Get yourself a nice haircut and spend a few minutes on your hair before you leave. If you don't know much about hair, you can't go wrong with; short on the bottom, a bit longer on the top, toss some mousse in, and slick things forward. Leave a little length on the front so you can spike it up a bit. That will get you started. You're gonna need to learn for later in life though, so learn how to take care of your hair before your big job interview.

Those are the basic fashion for college student guidelines. Follow them and you'll look better, feel better, and you may even snag a few classy ladies along the way.

Fashion for college student tip:

Here's some advice. Rather than ironing everything, pick up a steamer. You fill it with water, plug it in, and run it over your clothes. The wrinkles just fall out. Trust me fellas. There's no need for creases in college, at least until you're in grad school.

Men's Fashion Faux Pas - Things Men Should Avoid

!±8± Men's Fashion Faux Pas - Things Men Should Avoid

Fashion faux pas - we are all guilty of it, one way or another. But us men, and we must admit it, we just make fashion mistakes left and right that it's becoming embarrassing. It seems like when the Gods of fashion showered the gift of knowledge on dressing properly, it's just the ladies who went outside and we were all left watching some TV. But there is still hope for each and every testosterone-filled individual of the world. Because with this article, we'll round out some of the biggest fashion missteps most men have the chance to take. So that no one will ever take that plunge ever again.

No-no Number 1: Socks with Sandals

Fate must have played a cruel trick on every guy, because almost every man have committed this fashion don't. Okay, we get it. It's cold outside. But why not just wear shoes if you want warm feet. The horror of seeing someone wearing socks, much less white socks, with sandals is just unbearable. I think even talking about it is. That's why I'll just stop.

No-no Number 2: Novelty Clothing

It may look cute at first, but having a big smiley face and other lame prints on your clothes like ties, shirts and boxer shorts is very childish. Just save these types of garments when you're washing your car or working out. Or better yet, just wear them if you have nothing left to wear.

No-no Number 3: Big Designer Labels

We get it, you can afford branded clothing. But no matter how expensive they are, having logos of high-end clothing companies splattered on your chest just makes you look like a walking billboard. Besides looking like an ad for these companies, most people think you are a douche when you wear these types of clothing.

No-no Number 4: Backpacks at the Office

Though it may be very convenient most of the time, having a backpack and wearing a suit just does not match. Aside from the fact that it will wrinkle your clothes even before you get to the office, backpacks just look very juvenile. And you don't want that because people may not take you too seriously. That's bad especially if you are the boss of the company. Why not invest on a not so expensive brief case for your important office stuff. A messenger bag will also do.

No-no Number 5: Big Chunky Shoes

It's 2010, not the 90's. That's why big chunky shoes are definitely out. They say that fashion is timeless, but there are some items that should also be retired. Don't worry, you can still wear those big shoes during costume parties on Halloween.

No-no Number 6: Shiny Shirts and Suits

Just a reminder: you are not a pimp. That is why you should avoid wearing shirts and suits, and anything for that matter, that is very shiny and glittery. These clothing items just look tacky and they make your look like you're from the disco era. If you don't know what color to wear, always go back to the basics: black.

No-no Number 7: Loose Fitting Clothes

Loose fitting is equal to sloppy. You are not going to release the next top hip-hop hit or dancing B-Boy, so better try on clothes that fit you well. Perfectly-fitted clothing, especially dress shirts and pants, will definitely do you good.

No-no Number 8: Unflattering Colors

Many people said that it's the person wearing the clothes that makes the whole get-up look good. Sadly, they're wrong. Knowing how to use color to your advantage will do you good when trying dress properly. Avoid colors that will make you look pale or too dark. The color of what you're wearing should also compliment your eye color, skin ton and body shape.

There you go. These are just some of the fashion faux pas many men commit. Stay away from them and you'll be sure that you will look good.

Pegged Pants, Banana Clips and Designer Watches - Ten Tips For Bringing Back the 80s Now

!±8± Pegged Pants, Banana Clips and Designer Watches - Ten Tips For Bringing Back the 80s Now

1. Roll those bad boys. I don't mean cigarettes, girl! I mean the cuffs of your jeans! That's right, remember the "French cuff" or "pegging" your pants? Well, bring it on back. For a slightly updated a-la-minute variation, keep it a little more casual this time, don't work quite so hard to make that peg perfect. It's that, "Oh, did I leave them rolled? I was just wading in the surf and must have forgotten!" look we're going for now.

2. Get a strap on. I mean a designer watch! Checking the time on your phone is just lame. It's certainly not 80s. We didn't have cell phones in the 80s! I don't even know how we got around, to tell you the truth. How I ever met anyone anywhere is beyond me. And yet, the world marched on. We kept time with rad watches. And it looked damned good. Wearing a designer watch is probably the easiest and most brilliant 80s-inspired move you could possibly make. And leave your phone in your purse!

3. What purse is that, you ask? Why Le Sport Sac, honey. The It Bag is so last year. We're looking for twenty-five years ago. Other fabulous vintage options include brightly colored clutches, or the Bermuda bag. With the wooden handles and interchangeable covers? Work it, girl!

4. I 'do. Scrunchie! Banana clip! French braids! One side up in a barrette! It's all back, and it's all good. I don't know if we're ready for the hairsprayed bangs I used to have, though! Seriously, I Aqua Net-ed them into a tower or power and then teased them into a spray like the base of Niagra Falls. You couldn't mess them up if you hit them with a hammer. I feel a little traumatized imaging it now, but--sigh--go ahead, if you so desire, 'cause you watch, they'll be on the cover of Vogue by fall!

5. Right rounds, baby. I mean jelly bracelets! Your designer watch looks hot-hot-hot, but a little lonely, too. Pile on the jelly bracelets and brighten up those arms!

6. A T-shirt built for two. Big T-shirts, yes! I've got to say, it's nice to breathe again. Those tight T's we've been sporting since Y2K seem shrunken to me now, even unnatural. Hey, I'll probably adore them again in a couple years, but in the meantime, it's nice to swim in something again, even if it's not the municipal pool down the street.

7. One. Kind of. Of course, if you are lucky enough to be at the pool or the beach, remember this throwback: the monokini! It's a one-piece, it's a two-piece, it's crazy fresh all over again.

8. Waist not, want these. If the cuffs are rolled higher, the waistlines are, too. Maybe there IS a flood coming? Nothing wrong with drawing the eye up, if you ask me! Bring back that tiny waist that Michael Landon on Little House said he could span with his two hands, and let the curves under it say what they will.

9. Totally tubular. Tube tops! So fun!

10. And finally (in a way, it's hard to stop--there are so many more possibilities! but I'll control myself for the sake of hanging ten), the eyes have it. Colorful mascara! I used to love purple, but there are oh, so many to choose from. What will your signature color be?

My Best Friend's Best Friend - Chapter 13

SO SO sorry I didn't post in like FOREVER I'm out of ideas. Oh and I made a blog! it's www.saraskittles.wordpress.com weird name I know! But I just tell you about my day, and little sneak peeks!! =========== Justin's POV I called Lex so we could hang out, she said that I should come to her house, to meet her little sister Lauren. She said she was a huge fan. I drove to her house, and when I finally got there I rang the door bell, Lex answered. She was wearing black leggings, a huge navy Nike hoodie (probably her dad's) And Black converse. Her hair was in a messy bun. She was dressed so casual and simple, yet, she looked gorgeous, I didn't know that anyone could this gorgeous in just a hoodie and leggings. 'Hey!' she hugged me. 'Hi' I hugged back. 'Lauren's still in soccer practice' She said opening the door wider for me to come in 'Let's go to my room' She dragged me to the second floor of her enormous house, and into the second room on the left. Her house was so big and so bright. Her room was purple and white. The walls, chairs, couch, lap-top and bed were white and her cushions and duvet covers were purple. I plopped down on the huge white couch and she sat next to me. 'Nice room' I said looking around. 'Thanks. I designed it myself' She proudly said. 'You did an amazing job' I smiled at her. My arm was around her shoulder, and her head was on my chest. 'I'M HOME!' Someone yelled from downstairs. 'That's Lauren!' Lex said 'She's obsessed with you. So don't get freaked ...

Fashion Forecast - Hip Maternity Clothes

!±8± Fashion Forecast - Hip Maternity Clothes

Seize the spectacular opportunity pregnancy brings, because fashion trends are on your side. Surely your Latin teacher taught you carpe diem means "shop right now!" Get fit, stay fit, buy tons of leggings and blousy tops, and invest heavily in really cute belly bands.

A couple of years ago, leggings began their comeback. Updated from the eighties, new millennium leggings are slimmer and sleeker than the Jennifer Love Hewitt autograph models from back in the day. Today's leggings look sleeker, sexier, and more flattering; but, good news for expectant moms, they also contain double the Lycra of the so-last-century heavyweights. Because they stretch all directions instead of just two like the oldies, new leggings comfortably glide over and cradle you and your growing baby until well into your second trimester. If you eat right and stay fit, your new leggings will stay comfortable until you go into labor.

Maintaining your loyalty to fashion, of course, you must not give up all the cute clothes already hanging in your closet. Look in your thesaurus: you will see that "pregnant" is not a synonym for "fat," "frumpy," "lame," or "flat-out ugly." Reading all the "what to expect..." books, you also will realize that nowhere-absolutely nowhere!-is it written that you must wear cottony-stretchy turtleneck things with duckies and kittens printed all over them. The rules do not say you must wear baggy Oshkosh B'Gosh overalls and forfeit your signature look. Pregnancy may challenge you, but it is not supposed to punish you. Even your baby feels embarrassed when you look like a renegade from the 1950's. Cute, fashion-forward belly bands let you keep on wearing all your cute tops and sexy jeans. They provide that little bit of extra room the baby needs to stretch out.

Meanwhile, complementing all those great new leggings and all those great jeans you already had, tunics, short and versatile tank-strap and gathered short dresses, and billowy blouses have returned. These updated classics promise to stay au currant for several seasons. Invest, girl. Invest! You know the look: After your baby makes her debut, you will wear the short dresses and tunics alone or with your very slinkiest jeans. While you and the baby grow, wear them with your leggings or jeans, and blend right in with all those poor girls who do not yet have the joy of expecting a baby.

The Mini Skirt

!±8± The Mini Skirt

When people think of the mini skirt, often they may think ultra short. This is not entirely the case. The style was first introduced in the 1960's in Europe. Then, it was defined as any skirt with a hemline above the knees. Today, it is known to be much shorter.

The introduction of the mini skirt is often given to Mary Quant, a fashion designer in England. Others credit this fashion statement to André Courrèges, a French fashion designer. Both designers claim the invention of this fashion craze, although it is unclear who developed it first. There is no doubt that Courrèges designs changed fashion forever while Quant arguably liberated women's fashion as the way we know it today.

In the United States, the mini skirt did not gain nationwide popularity until 1966-1967. Since its introduction, the popularity has grown in exponential numbers. When this fashion trend was first introduced, the hemline could typically be found 4-5 inches above the knee, although it has been reported that in London, the hemline could be found 7-8 inches above the knee. Today, the mini skirt is shorter than ever.

As part of a growing trend, many women today are wearing these skirts with leggings or hot pants underneath to compensate for the length. Often, this fashion trend is made with such a short hem, it is necessary to wear another piece of clothing underneath. Many women feel comfortable and look quite stylish wearing the mini skirt in such a fashion.

Some claim that the short length coupled with high heel shoes actually makes a woman look taller and thinner. The claim being the shorter length of the mini skirt can make the upper thigh appear elongated, and high heel shoes make the lower part of the leg look longer as well. Wear this with caution however, as some criticize women wearing these shorter skirts that 'don't have the legs for them'.

Available in a wide array of styles, colors, and fabrics, this item is available in thousands of different styles. From the plain strait style to the pleated look, you can undoubtedly find a mini skirt to suit your particular style. In recent years, metallic fabrics have become hugely popular and are not hard to find. Lame', the most commonly known of these fabrics provides a unique, appealing and eye catching look to an item that is decades old.

For the ultra daring, mini skirts are now available in lengths as short as 3 inches, and at that length, they may not even fully cover a woman's rear. This ultra version also looks amazing with a pair of knee high boots, but for a less expensive alternative, wear one with a pair of leggings. In today's fashion, I say layer up, this look is in style and can be very sexy. There is no doubt that the mini skirt is here to stay. While what is being worn with them may have changed throughout the years, the basic concept has not.
